Application Overview

The Gas Diffusion Layer is a critical component of fuel cell membrane electrode assemblies (MEA), and plays many important roles:
  • catalyst layer support
  • transport of gas and liquid reactants and products inside the fuel cell
  • mechanical and chemical durability
  • electrical and heat conductivity
Our carbon fiber papers and carbon fiber fabrics are unparalleled in their ability to play these roles. Additionally, a precision coating facility enables us to provide hydrophobic treatments (e.g. PTFE) and micro-porous layers (MPLs) on a high volume basis.
