Ballard fuel cells demonstrate a wide range of productivity and reliability benefits over incumbent lead-acid battery technology. In 2006, both Cellex Power and General Hydrogen completed successful field trials with large end users, including Wal-Mart and Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Company. In 2007, both companies were acquired by Plug Power, forming one motive power division focused on commercializing a complete product line of fuel cells for drop-in battery replacement in the electric lift truck market. Currently our lead customer*, Plug Power, continues to gain market traction with some of North America’s largest warehouse, distribution and manufacturing facilities. |
