In collaboration with local universities, the Co-op Program is an integral part of Ballard’s culture. We have more than 25 engineering and applied sciences students at our Burnaby facility, and many more return for full-time employment opportunities after graduation.
Placement opportunities are available across multiple departments, including Research, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality. Co-op students are a part of the Ballard family from day one and are directly involved in external projects, product development, lab tests, and manufacturing production.
We aim to nurture and grow the next generation of engineers and scientists through the Co-op Program. Ballard actively recruits from the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Victoria for terms starting every January, May, and September.
In 2018, Ballard is honored to be awarded the University of British Columbia Engineering (UBC) Co-op Employer of the Year. We have been an active supporter of the UBC Co-op Program since 1995. As UBC Engineering’s third largest co-op employer, we have employed 230 students to date over 418 work terms. Ballard is selected this year due to the solid history and the large number of quality opportunities we have provided to engineering students from multiple disciplines.
