Contract Automotive

Ballard Power Systems provides contract services to Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation (AFCC), a private Vancouver, Canada-based automotive fuel cell technology company. AFCC was founded in 2008 and is owned 50.1% by Daimler AG, 30% by Ford Motor Company and 19.9% by Ballard Power Systems. AFCC was created to focus on fuel cell research, development and design specifically for automotive applications.

Today, Daimler and Ford fuel cell-powered cars and buses operate in fuel cell vehicle demonstration programs in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, China, Singapore and Iceland. These real-world demonstration and evaluation programs are providing vital feedback to the development teams as they work to commercialize automotive fuel cell vehicles.
