Andrew Cunningham is President of Ballard and the founder and former Chief Executive Officer of GeoPura. He founded GeoPura in 2019 to commercialise the hydrogen and zero-emission power technology previously created during a decade of privately funded R+D. He led GeoPura’s growth from an early-stage technology business into a leading provider of hydrogen production, distribution and power generation solutions.

Before GeoPura, Andrew had been a founder, shareholder, and director of several high technology companies, enjoying significant success with high reliability electronic financial trading technology company AVT, which was acquired by Reuters in 2002.  He subsequently led Reuters’ Financial Trading Division for six years. He is also the inventor of several patents relating to secure communications. Andrew holds a First Class degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, where he is also an Honorary Professor.
