Marty Neese has served as CEO since July 2025 and as a member of the Ballard board of directors since 2015. He has spent the last fifteen years in the clean energy industry. He is a passionate advocate for the transition to a sustainable, circular economy. He served as CEO of Verdagy, Inc. (Dynamic AWE electrolyzers and hydrogen production) until 2025. Previously, he was the COO at SunPower (solar) and Flex (EMS industry), where he led global manufacturing, supply chain, and research and development.

Mr. Neese holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Florida.
