VANCOUVER, CANADA and HOBRO, DENMARK – Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP; TSX: BLD) announced today that it has changed the name of its Denmark subsidiary from Dantherm Power A/S to ‘Ballard Power Systems Europe A/S’. The name change reflects an expanded role being undertaken in support of fuel cell market development and customer support throughout Europe. 

Operating under its new name, Ballard Power Systems Europe A/S will focus activities on supporting Ballard’s customers, projects and business development efforts in Europe. Today Ballard Power Systems is present in Europe with more than 50 employees located in Denmark, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. Ballard Power Systems Europe A/S will also continue to sell and support the FCgen^®-H2PM backup power system for deployment at critical IT and telecommunications infrastructure sites.

The local service team will play a critical role in supporting Ballard-powered zero-emission fuel cell buses used in public transit revenue service on European roads. With fleet sizes growing, premium support services will be readily available from experienced support personnel, ensuring safe and reliable operation of these buses with maximum operational uptime. 

Along with the name change, Ballard Power Systems Europe A/S has also adopted the Ballard brand, including logo and visual identity. 

These changes are effective immediately and all future business activity will be undertaken under the new name.
